About Richard

Richard Payne
“The number one way to value a person is by listening”. Richard learned this value at an early age from his mother whom he holds in high regard; as she is a great example of how to foster positive relationships, have a kind and charitable heart and a strong work ethic. At age 5, Richard’s step-dad, lovingly known as ‘Dad’, came into his life and played an important role in shaping Richard’s character.

His dad owned a commercial heating and air business, where Richard worked during his younger years. “I had to work twice as hard as someone else since it was my dad”. That strong work ethic fueled his promise to his dad before his passing, “I will take care of my family and finish my life well”.

Living every day by the promise to his dad, Richard served 20 years in ministry. His gift for listening and his genuine love for people helped innumerable youth, married couples and empty nesters through many life transitions. He is recognized for starting new churches and becoming deeply involved in each

community. Upon retiring from full time pastoring, Richard’s love for helping people was burning as strongly as ever. His skillful problem solving and ability to quickly build meaningful relationships led him to real estate.

A longtime friend, mentor, and owner of Landmark Premier Properties, jumped at the opportunity to have Richard join his team. The brokerage is built on integrity, transparency, and strong work ethic, values which are certainly in line with Richard’s. They hold themselves to a high standard to “sell your home for the most money, in the fastest time, with the least amount of hassles”. Richard has personally purchased five homes throughout his life. Each experience taught him the importance of listening and valuing what each customer needs and wants in a home, and that purchasing or selling a home is so much more than a transaction…it’s a transition. It’s this understanding that has earned him the slogan, “Suited to Serve”.

Today, Richard serves people in transition to a new home or lifestyle, so they can have the seamless and stress-free experience they deserve. Assisting those who need help in making a life transition is where Richard shines. He brings the wisdom of his 20 years in ministry to educate and encourage families through the buying and selling process. Richard believes that you should get the service you deserve whether you are growing a nest or emptying one.

Growing up with close-knit family values, is something Richard has carried with him into his own family. His wife, Carmen, is his best friend, keeping him grounded and focused. His three amazing kids and four grandchildren light up his life. Richard’s two dogs make perfect companions; while he enjoys fishing, reading, spending time with friends and watching Oklahoma Football – Go Sooners! He has dreams of visiting Greece and retiring on the beach or in the mountains. Until then, Richard is Suited to Serve.
